"Without a Request" podcast: how not to confuse fatigue with depression

The "Psychologist Support" project has launched a new podcast episode for mental health professionals.

The NGO "Ukrainian Professional Development," with the support of World Jewish Relief, is implementing an initiative designed to support psychologists in Ukraine amidst prolonged stress. As part of the project, we are launching the "Without a Request" podcast — a space for candid conversations about the challenges professionals face themselves.

In the first episode, we discuss how, in a world of constant tension and emotional overload, it is easy to confuse ordinary fatigue with a deeper condition: depression.

Episode topics:

  • what depression is from a mental health perspective and which warning signs to look out for;
  • whether the war is raising a generation of people who do not know how to feel tired;
  • whether it is dangerous to make depression "trendy."

Our guest for this episode is Olena Kuznetsova — a volunteer psychologist for the "Varto Zhyty" (Worth Living) psychological helpline and a participant in the "Psychologist Support" project. Olena has practical experience working with people in crisis and shares her professional perspective on how to maintain a balance between helping others and taking care of oneself.

The "Without a Request" podcast is created for psychologists who work daily with the pain, loss, and anxiety of others — and who themselves need resources and support.
