How to support a sibling after returning to civilian life? What to say when it is difficult for a person? How not to turn away, not devalue, not harm and at the same time not burn out yourself?

This is what the training “How to support brothers in civilian life”, which took place from April 1 to 5 on the basis of the training and rehabilitation center of PDMSH, was dedicated to this.
For five days, participants worked with themes of stress, traumatic experiences, recovery, and mutual support. The training combined theory and practice: modeling real situations, working in groups and practicing self-regulation and support skills in the “equal — equal” format.

Participants learned to better understand the body's reactions to stress, work with emotions, restore internal stability, and be a support for others in difficult states. Particular attention was paid to the management of mutual support groups, communication and routing of complex cases.
Such trainings provide not only knowledge, but also practical tools that work in real life — in units, veteran communities and the civilian environment.
We thank all participants for their openness, inclusion and willingness to work with important topics. Special thanks to the coaches of the NGO “TRUST UA” and the team of the center of psychology “TVOYaHistory” for deep work, support of participants and creation of a safe space for this process.
We continue to develop this direction further.
